June 18th
Brooklyn, NY
That’s it!
After 10 cities, 32 days, 370 miles walked and 45,000+ words later, this walk is officially a wrap. It’s time to rest these feet. This is the end of SUN SONG.
It feels great to be home walking these familiar Brooklyn streets once again. A celebratory cheeseburger and martini among dearly missed friends awaits
Thanks to EVERYONE who followed along. Below are some next steps:
SUN SONG Archive
I’m going to keep these letters online until June 25th. After that, I’ll delete this mailing list + Substack. As always, you may unsubscribe below. I’ll keep the full archive up for patreon subscribers. It will live on a members-only page.
Keep in touch
My newsletter (the one I send when I’m not on long, long walks) is the best way to continue following my work. Subscribe below:
Pedestrian — Sent monthly (although with increasing frequency). A newsletter for people who like to walk.
Of course, I’m on the usual social channels.
Support this work
This work is supported by members of the Pedestrian patron. If you really enjoyed reading these letters and hope to see me out there walking around with more frequency, please consider signing up for as little as $5/month. You’ll get access to my growing archive of long walk newsletters, unreleased writing, members updates, videos, and free PDF issues of Pedestrian Magazine.
This work is much more than walking. These trips call for an absurd amount of planning, often starting months before I even leave the door – not to mention, the financial and emotional energy required. Membership is just another way to keep me out there walking, talking, photographing, and writing with greater frequency and commitment.
If subscriptions / memberships aren’t your thing, you can also send a few bucks via Venmo (@wolfealexandert) or Paypal (wolfealexandert@gmail.com).
Questions?
Please feel free to write with any questions or comments. I’m frequently asked what gear I use, how I plan walks, and other logistical questions. I’m going to address those FAQ’s + send out SUN SONG reflections and insights in a couple weeks via Pedestrian. I’d love to include any thoughts you might have.
That’s all for SUN SONG! Thank you for the kind letters and encouragement. It is greatly appreciated. This was the longest walk of my life and it made all the difference.
The road awaits. I can’t wait to see you out there on the next one.
Until then,
Alex Wolfe
Thank you, Alex!
